Altitude Diver Course

Any time you’re diving at 300 to 3000 metres/1000 to 10,000 feet above sea level, you’re altitude diving. If you want to explore the hidden world of a mountain lake, the PADI Altitude Diver Specialty course is for you.

Why take the Altitude Diver course?

Dive more challenging dive sites while you satisfy your curiosity for "wonder what's down there". The fun part about altitude diving is that you can explore places many people have never seen.

What's involved in the course?

The Altitude Diver Specialty course familiarizes you with the rules and procedures necessary to use the Recreational Dive Planner at altitude. This includes: Altitude dive planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards Special Recreational Dive Planner procedures for diving at altitude Safety stops and emergency decompression procedures Special equipment necessary for altitude diving

Who can take the course?

To take this course you must have a PADI Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver certification (or qualifying certification from another organization) and be at least 12 years old

All our specialties run regularly year round. Our training staff can work out an individual schedule for the specialty courses that interest you.

This course is usually run at Lake Taupo and makes a perfect addition to the Drift Diver Specialty that we run down the Waikato River.
