Rescue Diver Course

“Challenging” and”rewarding” best describe the PADI Rescue Diver course. Building upon what you’ve already learned, this course expands on what you already know about how to prevent problems, and how to manage them if they occur.

Why take the Rescue Diver course?

If you dive for long enough eventually you may find yourself in a situation where yourself, your buddy or a fellow needs some help. This course gives you the skills and knowledge you need to confidently handle what can become a stressful situation.

What's involved in the course?

You will learn to deal with various rescue situations. These include: -Self rescue -Recognizing and managing stress in other divers -Emergency management and equipment -Rescuing panicked divers -Rescuing unresponsive divers This course is designed to give you the confidence to deal with problems that can occur while diving. If you are thinking of working towards any of the professional ratings like Divemaster this is a valuable step along the way.

Who can take the course?

You must have a current first aid & CPR certificate and have a PADI Junior Advanced Open Water or PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or a qualifying rating prior to starting the Rescue course. Those divers under 15 years of age who successfully complete the PADI Rescue course will be awarded the PADI Junior Rescue Diver Certificate.

When does the course run?

This is a three day programme usually conducted over two weekends. There is one day of theory and two practical days in the sea. We can also offer you the pre-requisite PADI Emergency First Response course (first aid & CPR). We run the course regularly year round.

We do the theory and first aid course at our dive centre. For the practical days we choose varying local dive sites to give you the best practice possible
