ScubaPro Everflex
The Most Warm and Flexible suit we stock. The Everflex use’s a new neoprene (Everflex). It moulds around a range of figures for each sizing and fit’s firm around the body to create un beatable seals. The strength of the smooth skin seals around the neck ankles and wrist is unbeatable. The Everflex has small added features to give the suit a practical user friendly finish. For example an Isafe patch which allows the diver a place to connect their wrist computer with an added protection for it, and Tatex Knee pads to absorb knocks and resist abrasion.
We have priced the Ever Flex At $599.00. If any one has any enquiries about the suit give us a call.
Spear Fishing
In the past Spear fishing has been a controversial subject with us and other dive shops. The big worry is the damage to the environment that "take" can cause. We have always sold spear guns and supported the sport to a smart and safe level, making sure people understand the limits and sizes of fish and crayfish alike. The gun I’m writing about today is the Picasso spider 1m rail gun, this gun is an affordable durable option for the average spearo (or spearo to be). The spider has the ability to be used in the shallows for butterfish and other small game, or to be taken out deeper for the fighting kingfish.
The Spiders normally retails at $475.00, but we’ve knocked it down to $400.00, and with the Pelaj float, float line and gun will sell the total package for $508.90. Come in any time and have a chat about the regulations and the how to of spear fishing.
The Big GUY
We all love night diving and want to be able to see the different forms of life that a dark ocean provides. I’ve tried many dive torches and struggled with brightness, range and dark spots in the field of vision.
Earlier this month I went for I night dive at Lone Rock with a torch called the Intova Nova, it is a secondary wide beam torch using a LED the range was amazing, and there was no dark spots any where in the beam of the torch, the colours of a vibrant under sea world truly came out.
Since this dive I have looked further into the Intova Product range of torches their primary torch the super nova is thrice the strength with a charger, in broad day light in the shop the Supernova still easily lights up a field of vision. The Supernova has two strengths of beam 100% and 30% for power conservation, at 100% it burns at 500 Lumens. The burn time is 3 ½ hours at 100% and 20 hours at 30%, and has a working depth of down to 120m (400ft)
These products are well worth a look.
Keeping Warm
We were diving in the Poor Knights Recently, after the first day of diving I was feeling too cold diving in my wetsuit to continue diving. The dive master on the live aboard lent me a long sleeve thermal called a Fourth Element. I was blown out of the water “so to speak”, my feet no longer went numb and my whole body felt a lot warmer, due to my core being able to keep and produce heat.
I have used other leading dive thermals and have found there is no comparison. The fact that it goes so far down the body, and the fact that it has no hood. Thermal hoods disrupt the seal of a neoprene hood letting water flow around the head.
Fourth Element make’s thermal tops, leggings, and socks for dry suits and wet suits.
This item is a must for any Wellington (cold water) diver.
