  • Get the best photos from simple point "n" shoot, to "complex" cameras

What will I do?
Theory of Underwater Digital Photography, camera workshop, practice on land, 2 supervised open water dives in which to learn & practice your new knowledge & skills, including:

  • Photography basics (common to all cameras above & below the water)
  • Exposure, focus & perspective, controlling motion, colour & the spectrum, camera types, & strobe photography.
  • U/W photography principles
  • How water affects light
  • Submersible cameras, housings & strobes
  • Framing & focus
  • How to set an U/W camera for proper exposure
  • Composition & the most useful U/W shooting angle
  • Diving with a camera
  • Set-up & maintenance for U/W photo systems
  • Backing up digital images
  • Digital photo editing

 

What do I need to start?
You must be at least PADI Junior Open Water Diver qualified or equivalent (just ask us!).

How long will it take?
Course hours: 12
Dives: Two open water dives best done over two days

Where do I go from here?
The Digital inderwater photography Adventure Dive from the Adventures In Diving program may credit toward this Specialty course at the instructor's discretion. This Specialty course can also be one of the five Specialty certifications necessary for your PADI Master Scuba Diver certification.
