Are you looking for something extraordinary? To do something others can only dream of? To help people transform their lives? To open doors you didn’t even know existed? All of this and more awaits you, take our PADI IDC and become a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor.
The PADI Instructor Development program is your gateway to a world of adventure. By becoming a PADI Scuba Instructor you obtain the dive industry’s most sought after professional qualification. This program will further the skills you learnt in the Divemaster course and prepare you for sharing the underwater world by teaching people to dive.
The IDC includes 6 days of learning how to teach the various PADI programs you will be qualified to teach on the completion of the IE. We will cover a range of techniques and skills for in-water teaching as well as presenting knowledge sessions to groups. Prior to starting the IDC you will need to have completed the eLearning section of the program so allow plenty of time to work through this and your dive theory beforehand. At the completion of the IDC you will be prepared to take the PADI Instructor Exam to become an Open Water Scuba Instructor.
To take the Instructor Development Course you must be a PADI Divemaster (or qualifying certification from another training organization), be 18 years old, have 60 logged dives before starting the course and have been a certified diver for at least 6 months. You also need an Emergency First Response Instructor rating which we can organise to run before the IDC begins.
The course runs roughly 3 times a year to coincide with the Instructor Exam dates that PADI set for Wellington.
The course is run at our shop in Mana and at a selection of local dive sites.
The Instructor Development Course costs $2,900. This includes your PADI Instructor Development eLearing course, PADI IDC Pack (Course and Instructor Materials) and the in water course fee. Payments can be made online or in store.
Drop by the shop or get in touch with us to find dates of upcoming courses, or if you’re not a Divemaster yet have a chat to us about working out a schedule for you. Payments can be made in store, online or by bank deposit.
