Escape for a fun weekend exploring the highlights of Napier. As scuba divers we naturally seek out novel experiences and diving in the Napier Oceanarium is nothing short of this. Concerned about diving with sharks and rays? No problem, ease your fears with marine life that is so used to divers you’ll feel right at home. A fearless underwater explorer? No problem either, maybe shark feeding time is what you’re after…
Enjoy a large and diverse range of aquatic animals with both native species and others from around the world. The Oceanarium at the National Aquarium of New Zealand has two compartments with over 1,500 fish so there’s sure to be many that you will find interesting.
The Region is also famous for its wines – you can go on-line to discover the apparent health benefits of an occasional glass of good quality wine. We meet in Napier around midday on Saturday for an afternoon guided wine tour; our guide, driver and van are provided. This is an educational and relaxing afternoon visiting about four wineries. We follow that with dinner in Downtown Napier then off to the arranged accommodation.
Next day we have the ‘run’ of the National Aquarium of New Zealand and do some exciting fish feeding at 2.00pm.
