Description

Any time you are diving at 300 to 3000 metres/1000 to 10,000 feet above sea level, you’re altitude diving. If you want to explore the hidden world of a mountain lake, the PADI Altitude Diver Specialty course is for you.

Why take the PADI Altitude Diving course?

The course takes one day from 9am to 4:30pm. New courses start by arrangement throughout the year. Can’t make it in the weekend, not a problem, book in for a one-on-one course during the week or get a group of 4 or more together and we can arrange dates for you!

What’s involved in the course?

The Altitude Diver Specialty course familiarizes you with the rules and procedures necessary to use the Recreational Dive Planner at altitude. This includes: Altitude dive planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards Special Recreational Dive Planner procedures for diving at altitude Safety stops and emergency decompression procedures Special equipment necessary for altitude diving.

Who can take the course?

To take this course you must have an Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver certification and be at least 12 years old.

When does the course run?

All our specialties run regularly year round. Our training staff can work out an individual schedule for the specialty courses that interest you.

Where does the course run?

This course is usually run at Lake Taupo and makes a perfect addition to the Drift Diver Specialty that we run down the Waikato River.
