Description

Any time you are diving at 300 to 3000 metres/1000 to 10,000 feet above sea level, you’re altitude diving. If you want to explore the hidden world of a mountain lake, this course is for you.

What’s involved in the Altitude Diver Specialty course?

The course familiarizes you with the rules and procedures necessary to use the Recreational Dive Planner at altitude. This includes: dive planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards Special Recreational Dive Planner procedures for diving at altitude, Safety stops and emergency decompression procedures plus Special equipment necessary for altitude diving.

Who can take the Altitude Diver Specialty course?

To take this course you must have an Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver certification and be at least 12 years old.

When does the course run?

All our specialties run regularly year round. Our training staff can work out an individual schedule for the specialty courses that interest you.

Where does the course run?

This course is usually run at Lake Taupo and makes a perfect addition to the Drift Diver Specialty that we run down the Waikato River.
